Joining Preexisting Figures

An existing figure can be made a child of an existing family by dragging the figure over the family line, and then releasing it.

Two existing figures can be merged by dragging one over the other.

To create a new family partnership between two figures, A and B, proceed as follows:

Create a new temporary partner for A by dropping the mouse just below it, and dragging slightly left or right to determine the sex of the temporary partner. Release the mouse when a suitable temporary partner is previewed.
Drag the temporary partner onto the desired partner B.
